Having spent the last week in New York City, during and in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, once again I am humbled by the strength, resilience and camaraderie and the people of New York (& New Jersey). The unprecedented destruction cannot be downplayed, and there are many people still without power or food, and I encourage people to sign up to volunteer in an capacity they can, or donate to the Red Cross.
