Gratitude

An important message. Nature’s beauty can be easily missed, but not through Louie Schwartzberg’s lens. His stunning time-lapse photography, accompanied by powerful words from Benedictine monk David Steindl-Rast, serves as a meditation on being grateful for every day.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving! May you navigate your time with family with style, grace, a sense of humour and cocktails. Many, many necessary cocktails.

Vegas

A wonderful time was had out in San Francisco, and yes...Vegas. I had good inspiration. (And how young is Johnny Carson here?! Amazing!)

Earth: Population 7 Billion+

Last week a baby born half way across the world became the 7 Billionth member of the earthling tribe. This world's booming (& lopsided) population is a point of concern when you consider the following: Just 200 years ago, there were only 1 billion people on the planet, and over the next 150 years, that number grew to 3 billion. But in the past 50 years, the global population has more than doubled, and the UN projects that it could possibly grow to 15 billion by the year 2100. As the international organization points out, this increasing rate of change brings with it enormous challenges. Meeting the basic needs of so many will mean growing, shipping, and distributing more food while providing more clean water, health care, and shelter -- all without inflicting too much further damage on our environment. To survive, we must take better care of our planet and each other.  For more incredible photos visit The Atlantic.
