Fashion/Photo: Jolie + VF

Angelina Jolie is looking as fierce and fabulous as ever on the August cover of Vanity Fair. There is a rare in depth interview, where she admits that retiring from acting maybe just around the corner for her as having her children and her family have made her realize that acting is "not the most important thing in my life." We'll see.

Fashion/Film: I Am Love

After seeing the preview for the Italian film "I am love", starring the fabulous Tilda Swinton, I was captivated by its lusciousness and style. Shortly after I stumbled across Vogue's article on the film's fashion, as Swinton's wardrobe was made by Raf Simons for Jil Sander. Between that and the wonderful reviews, we can't wait!

Photo: X-Ray Pinup

Skin-and-bones models are normally gross, but there's something amazingly weird & wonderful about this pinup calendar from Eizo. The X-Ray company decided to promote their latest see-through technology with a pinup calendar... entirely done in X-Ray vision. The result is a spooky and hysterical set of images that leave nothing (and everything) to the imagination. See them all here.

The new ads for Louis Vuitton's fall collection have been released and they are lovely (but then again, so are all their ad campaigns)! Like the runway show, the ads feature models Christy Turlington, Karen Elson and Natalia Vodianova representing women of different ages (one model in her 20s, one her 30s, one her 40s), all equally fabulous and one of the most sophisticated Vuitton fashion campaigns to date. This is the fourth Vuitton campaign shot by Steven Meisel, who constructed the period set in a New York studio.

"I love Tina Turner. Obviously, she's just an amazing, amazing artist, just a survivor."

The iconic pink dress Marilyn Monroe wore in 1953's "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" went up for auction recently, and though they estimated the dress would bring in around $200,000, it sold for much more. Fashion: McQueen vs. Cadbury

The McQueen label thinks Cadbury's ad for its Flake bar, in which a woman floats in a yellow dress, is suspiciously similar to the Kate Moss hologram projected at its fashion show in 2006, when the model was mired in a drug scandal. The director of the Flake ad also did the Moss hologram. Cadbury said they weren't intending to copy the hologram, "but the director has a particular house style." Is all this trouble worth it for Cadbury?

Events: World Cup 2010

South Africa pulled out all the stops for their FIFA 2010 World Cup kickoff concert, before the first game of the biggest sports competition in the world. Fashion: Princess Di's Dress

Princess Diana may be gone, but she’s certainly not forgotten. Bought by Chilean fashion museum Fundación Museo De La Moda, the dress–designed by Elizabeth Emanuel and David Emanuel–was sold along with an original copy of the invoice, fashion sketches, and photographs of Di wearing it.

Fashion/TV: MTV Style

Though it is two days past, we thought we had to tip our hat to the lovely Sandra Bullock, who showed up to the MTV Movie Awards Sunday looking better than ever (take that, JJ!). Her hot dress was designed by Oday Chakar with a plunging back, which prompted Betty White to tell her "Don't ever wear that dress backwards!" Scarlett Johansson also looked fabulous in a lacy green Dolce & Gabbana dress. See more here!

Fashion/Film: French Actresses

Let's face it, French women have a certain je ne sais quois. And so Vanity Fair Magazine produced a Top 10 list of the Most Stunning French Actresses. "In the movies at least, French women tend to both say less and wear less than their American counterparts. They walk alone in Paris streets like Jeanne Moreau, or along deserted beaches like Brigitte Bardot. They’re more often temptresses than girls next door. Jean-Luc Godard said that all one needs to make a film is a gun and a girl. But with the 10 actresses listed here, no need for a gun—they’re fatale enough on their own." See the full list here.

Fashion: Lagerfeld Honor

Karl Lagerfeld was awarded France's Legion of Honor at the Elysee palace on Thursday, and was treated to a surprise garden party by French President Nicolas Sarkozy and his wife Carla Bruni. As part of the honor Lagerfeld was given a one-of-a-kind creation made to order by the French Mint and Chanel’s high jewelry workshops as a surprise. "I am much better at making small talk than at giving speeches If it wasn’t for 99 percent of the people in this room, it would all amount to nothing. So in fact, this is for me but it is also for all of you."

Photo: Dennis Hopper

With the passing of Dennis Hopper last week, we were reminded of his substantial contributions to film — as an actor or director in films like Rebel Without A Cause, Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now and Hoosiers. But he was also a successful painter, a sculptor and, through it all, a photographer. A new book & exhibit entitled "Dennis Hopper: Photographs 1961-1967" showcases Hopper's talent in taking portraits, mostly of his celebrity friends like Paul Newman and Andy Warhol, but also includes photos from all over the U.S. — snapshots of everyday people and life. See them here.

Fashion: Eco-swimsuits

British designer Katharine Hamnett has just launched her eco-friendly swimwear "Save the Sea" collection exclusively for yoox.com. The capsule collection is made up of 14 exclusive pieces featuring the slogan “SAVE THE SEA”: one-piece swimsuits and bikinis for her as well as swimwear for him, beach towels and handmade, fabric tote bags. The style of the collection is inspired by the chic icons and divas of the ‘50s and ‘60s: the one-piece Marlene Dietrich swimsuit, the polka-dot Ursula Andress bikini, the Rita Hayworth short jumpsuit, the Ernest Hemingway shorts. Katharine became famous in the 1980s for having launched positive environmental messages, for taking action in combating climate change and problems of pollution. Wearing “out loud” the slogan “SAVE THE SEA” is a way to launch a clear message with regards to the seas and oceans, which are currently at risk thanks to over-fishing, pollution, and bad habits. “I called this collection SAVE THE SEA, as the sea we all love is dying. It’s important as consumers and people with the right to vote to be aware of the facts so we can do whatever is possible to save it.”

Fashion: Cavalli turns 40

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Roberto Cavalli's label and to celebrate the milestone, he sat down with Harper's Bazaar to dish on all things fashion. Here's what Roberto had to say on the provenance of his trademark leopard print: "God created such a fantastic world. Leopard is an animal design, and my designs come from nature." On what he loves about women: "Their eyes. A woman can drive me crazy with her eyes. And when they don’t pay attention to me, they drive me crazy too. I am a completely typical man."
