Photo: Dennis Stock

Last week, photographer master Dennis Stock passed away at the age of 81, leaving behind extraordinary intimate and evocative portraits capturing the essence of jazz performance, rock stars that emerged during the Woodstock era, and Hollywood stars, in particular helping shape James Dean’s moody public persona. Mr. Stock was one of those photographers whose names are not widely known but whose work is instantly recognizable. Take some time to revisit his wonderful photos here.
