Fashion: More Menswear

As the rest of the menswear collections were unveiled this week in Milan, there was an overwhelming militaristic theme. Maybe it’s the economy, or general global mood, but designers were decidedly inspired to take aspects of traditional uniforms - from aviation to the trenches - and inject them into their fall collections. From Burberry's "hymn to the battlefield" to Armani's “military romanticism”, fashion houses scrambled to streamline old favorites in a year "where fashion has been badly damaged by the economic downturn, established markets like Russia vanished, China and India failed to fulfill their early promise and consumers in the United States, still key clients, continued to clutch their piggy banks." (NY Times) Make sure to catch up on the live streaming fashion shows or view the most recent menswear slideshow.
