Silver Screen Sundays: The Philadelphia Story

A reminder today of 1940's brilliant The Philadelphia Story and the classy swagger of Cary Grant and Jimmy Stewart, even when one is drunk. This movie won an Oscar for Mr.Stewart's acting as well as the screenplay, which was originally a play on Broadway. Katharine Hepburn became one of the first actresses to buy the rights to a play (which she starred in), in order to produce the movie and guarantee her casting in it despite her being labelled "box office poison" at the time.
